Job description:

The Department of Health are seeking a highly self-motivated Senior Clinical Psychologist (Continuing Care Stream) to join their Mental Health Services South Team.

The role:

As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements, and relevant professional competencies, the Senior Clinical Psychologist - Continuing Care Stream will:

  • Undertake the delivery of quality patient care services, based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
  • Promote community awareness in relation to mental health.
  • Provide a specialist clinical psychological assessment and treatment service to clients of an Adult Mental Health Services (AMHS) Team.
  • Act as a consultant to other agencies regarding the support and management of clients with mental health needs.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, part time, day worker position working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 12 months. 

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary: $120,114 - $134,268 pro-rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $126,845 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia
  2. Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia

Where required for a particular role:

Area of practice Endorsement ie, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, Counselling Psychology, Community Psychology, Educational and Developmental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, Organisational Psychology, or Sport and Exercise Psychology

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

  1. Relevant postgraduate qualifications in staff supervision, leadership or management
  2. Registration as a supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia
  3. Current Working with Children Registration
