Job description:

Department of Health are seeking interest for a fixed term full time PHS Policy and Project Support Officer to join the Community Mental Health & Wellbeing team in Hobart.

The Role:

The Strategic and Business Support unit provides whole-of-Public Health Services corporate, business, and administrative, and strategy and governance support.

The Policy and Project Support Officer reports through the Strategy and Governance stream and will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Strategic and Business Support unit through provision of high-level policy and project support, including supporting Public Health Services incident and emergency management planning and response activities.

The Policy and Project Support Officer will contribute to the implementation of the Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements recommendations in relation to Health and Air Quality.

You will need

  • Demonstrated experience in providing specialist advice and analysis in project-related work, together with expertise and understanding of project management principles.
  • Demonstrated capacity to use initiative and judgement, apply sound strategic, analytical, and creative skills to undertake research, interpret data and information, provide options and recommendations, and decide on appropriate courses of action which may impact on, and/or improve, service delivery objectives.
  • Proven experience in the production and preparation of high-quality documentation and reports, in a variety of communication formats for a range of audiences, together with demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of complex policies, procedures, guidelines, project plans, briefings, and workflows.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight (negotiable), commencing as soon as possible for a 12-month period.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $98,255 to $103,069per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
