Job description:

The Department of Health are seeking a highly self-motivated Clinical Lead to join their Mental Health Services South Team.

Please note this position is also being advertised as a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Lead (517881d) and only one position will be filled on merit.

The role:

As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health and Statewide Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health and Statewide Services Principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Clinical Lead will provide high level support to the Team Leader within the relevant community mental health service in the provision of:

  • Leadership and direction in the strategic development and management of a comprehensive multidisciplinary community mental health team.
  • Effective management of specified human and physical resources.
  • Leadership, direction and change management to facilitate the progression of the current Mental Health and Statewide Services Strategic Plan through the implementation of the associated model of care and relevant service policies, procedures and guidelines.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 12 months.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $120,114 - $134,268 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $126,845 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
    *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment.   It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer of any new criminal convictions and/or if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. A minimum of 3 years post graduate clinical experience in the context of a community mental health team
  2. Current Driver’s Licence
  3. Holds, or is working towards, tertiary qualifications in mental health

  3. serious drug offences
