Staff Specialist Emergency Department - Launceston General Hospital
We love Launceston. Let us show you why!
Are you looking for a new adventure, or just finished your training and want to join an energetic, forward thinking team in a department full of broad clinical experiences?
We are looking for someone to join our close knit team of FACEMs
The department
A 43 bed unit opened in 2012, with an annual attendance of 45,000, a 30% admission rate and approximately 20% paediatric caseload. As the referral hospital for the entire north of Tasmania we experience high acuity and clinical diversity. The hospital has all major specialties, including a fully supported ICU with ECMO capability and 24-hour cardiac interventional angiography.
As a consultant group we support ACEM, FACRRM and FRACGP trainees with 24 month ACEM accreditation, including paediatric logbook. As an accredited AMC WBA site, we additionally support multiple international medical graduates at all levels from JMO to Staff Specialist.
Multiple consultants per shift provide direct clinical supervision from 8:00am until midnight, seven days a week with an on-call service outside these hours. We offer approximately 30% CST time with individual portfolios, weekly consultant team meetings and regular educational events. On-call is approximately 1 in 8 shifts, and weekends 1 in 3.
