The Role:
- Assess and process applications for patient information in a timely manner, including medico-legal requests, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act 2004, Right to Information Act 2009 and other appropriate legislation, policy, protocols and timeframes by confirming patient identification, consent, type of request, delegate approval requirements, record locations and record types.
- Liaise with Release of Information Delegates to ensure approval is provided (when required) to release patient information to requestors including:
- Redacting information as determined by the Delegate
- Assessing consent and patient ID documentation to determine NOK relationships
- Assessing what information is relevant to the request
- Exporting data from health records
- Ensure the patient’s privacy and confidentiality is maintained at all times and health information is safeguarded from unauthorised access or disclosure.
- Liaise with requestors face-to-face, in writing and over the phone to ensure requirements are met for patient release of information by explaining request process and charges, generating of correspondence, negotiating timeframes for release, organising inspection of records.

Details of appointment: General Stream, Band 3
Permanent part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $71,661 - $77,455 per annum (pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
