Job description:

King Island Hospital and Health Centre are seeking a motivated Home Help Personal Carer to join their team.

The Role:

King Island Hospital and Health Centre are seeking a motivated Home Help Personal Carer to join their team. We strive to uphold the values of compassion, accountability, respect and excellence as we service the needs of the community. This small team is well supported but has the ability to work autonomously while servicing clients over King Island.   

The Home Help Personal Carer will: 

  • Provide home help services to clients in their own homes, including household and personal care duties as assessed and documented in client care plans.
  • Within a primary health care framework, function effectively as a member of a health team concerned with the care of an individual and family unit within the community.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 40 hours per fortnight, commencing from December 2024.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $58,184 to $59,580 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022

Allowances: 

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • District Allowances of up to $4,618 per annum for a family 
  • Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an additional salary allowance of 10% 

Benefits available to eligible candidates 

  • Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.
  • Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.

Eligibility:

Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

    • Current Driver’s Licence.

    • As required by CHSP, occupants of this role are required to undertake a conviction check assessment every three years
