The Role:
Outline the key duties/responsibility of the role to be detailed by the hiring manager.
You will need:
- Demonstrated advanced competence and clinical expertise in midwifery including the ability to apply principles of best practice to the clinical setting through the development and implementation of appropriate clinical guidelines.
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide expert advice and support to staff, women and their families.
- Proven ability to plan, implement and evaluate education sessions for staff, women and their families in the area of midwifery together with the ability to educate and influence a broad range of stakeholders including health professionals and consumers.
- Sound knowledge of research methodologies, including continuous quality improvement, and their application within a clinical setting, together with proven ability to develop and implement best practice initiatives and foster a climate of critical thinking in relation to the care of maternity patients and their families.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of polices, protocols and procedures in consultation with key stakeholders, and motivational skills to initiate and implement strategies to support service delivery improvement.

The Team:

Example: Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit within the RHH is the tertiary referral centre for all cardiothoracic surgery in Tasmania. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $111,506 to $118,336 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.
Allowances:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
