
The Team:
Finance and Business Services support the Department of Health in Tasmania. This role is part of the Community, Mental Health and Wellbeing business support team and supports Statewide and Mental Health Services by administering client trust accounts.
The Role:
The Senior Administrative Officer will:
• Ensure that client trust accounts for Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) are maintained appropriately and that client fees are collected and acquitted in line with Department policy and procedures.
• Ensure that a broad range of administrative and business support activities are delivered in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Provide support to senior managers within SMHS and Finance and Business Support as required.
You will need:
- Proven knowledge of Government accounting procedures and experience in relation to managing Clients’ Trust Accounts.
- Good knowledge of computer systems and skills in respect to financial information systems and Clients' Trust Management or the ability to acquire such knowledge.
- Ability to work either individually or as part of a team to achieve stated outcomes along with good planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of administration, purchasing and finance functions, practices and procedures.
- Sound interpersonal, communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills including an ability to explain Departmental goals and policies and identify mutually acceptable solutions in situations of competing priorities.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $79,529 - $91,517 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
