The Team:
HITH-N is a virtual eleven bed ward that provides acute care to Launceston General Hospital (LGH) inpatients in their permanent or temporary residence or in a community setting. It is an interdisciplinary team including medical, nursing, allied health, pharmacy and support staff who work collaboratively together using a holistic, client-centred approach to provide seamless high-quality care and optimise patient outcomes.
Working in this dynamic service will provide the opportunity to;
- Support the establishment of an innovative new model of care in Northern Tasmania

- Contribute to improving patient flow and community care options for hospital patients
The Role:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) within the HITH-N service is responsible for:
- Acting as a leader, advisor and mentor and working collaboratively with all members of the team to ensure high level clinical excellence
- Providing high level clinical leadership in the development, provision and evaluation of the service
- Supporting optimal patient/client/family and community outcomes
- Evaluating and implementing changes to clinical practice,

Details of Appointment
Fixed term, casual, shift worker position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for a two year period.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $139,948 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.
Allowances:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
