The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) (Team Leader) will undertake operational management of the staff within the designated Community or Extended Teams and holds a statewide clinical stream portfolio.

Please note this is also being advertised as Team Leader - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) (527299d) and only one position will be filled on merit.

The Role:

  • The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) encompasses the Community and Extended treatment teams that deliver several clinical streams across Tasmania. Extended Treatment Teams are dedicated services for Youth (16-25 years of age), Out-of-home-care children and the Youth Forensic Team
  • The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) (Team Leader) will undertake operational management of the staff within the designated Community or Extended Teams and holds a statewide clinical stream portfolio.

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) (Team Leader):

  • Provides leadership to CAMHS Community or Extended Team.
  • Ensures the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education, and nursing research functions within the CAMHS Community or Extended Team.
  • Leads and manages the coordination of overall patient care and is responsible for managing the allocated human, material, and financial resources for service delivery within the CAMHS Community or Extended Team.

The Team:

The Child & Youth Mental Health Service is currently undergoing an exciting period of reform and expansion, and this role is leading new teams in our service. The team is comprised of several smaller multidisciplinary teams working with children and young people in the community living with a mental illness. This is an exciting opportunity to put your own mark on the newest parts of our service. 

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $126,411 to $132,325 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Working with Children Registration
