The Role:
This position works in the RHH Cafeteria and will in accordance with Agency policies, procedures, and guidelines, assist with food preparation, production, plating service, ware-washing, and cleaning duties in the provision of catering services to patients, visitors, and staff of the hospital.
You will need:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in food preparation and production, cook-chill procedures and working within a large organisation.
- Understanding of general food handling and food hygiene regulations and proven ability to maintain all work areas and equipment in a hygienic state, including maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance in accordance with food services policies.
- Good communication skills with a proven ability to understand both written and verbal instructions and cooperate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Understanding of appropriate Work Health and Safety legislation and codes of practice.

The Team:
- Work as part of a diverse team in a fast-paced Cafeteria.
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitising all kitchen equipment, utensils, floors, and walls as directed by relevant supervisors and in accordance with relevant guidelines.
- Perform general food preparation, service, menu related and cash handling duties.
Details of appointment:
Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately ten (10) months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $55,466 to $57,712 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Plus 25% Casual loading - Equivalent of $34.95 to $36.36 per hour
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
