The Team:
An exciting opportunity exists within the Department of Health for a suitably qualified Allied Health Professional to be part of a multidisciplinary team providing high quality health and well-being services to young people aged 12-24. Youth Health South is part of the Department of Women’s and Children’s Services which is a supportive, cohesive, and highly functioning team that is motivated to meet the service needs of our community. The occupant will work within a passionate team that promotes wellbeing and preventative services including mental wellbeing and sexual health, support young people to manage and maintain better health outcomes, and support the day-to-day services of the Pulse Youth Health Service.
The Role:
- Contemporary knowledge of primary health care principles specifically related to youth and family health, including but not limited to; statutory requirements, homelessness, alcohol and other drugs, sexual health, harm minimisation approaches and the ability to implement this knowledge in a practice setting.
- Demonstrated experience in youth and family health working from a strengths-based approach, incorporating assessment, advocacy, short-term counselling, group facilitation and presentation skills.
- Extensive post-registration experience working with young people and/or in community settings.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:
$73,834 to $111,364 pro rata per annum + our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022
Allowances:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
- Degree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or
- Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
