The Role:
We are seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our multidisciplinary team located at the Royal Hobart Hospital. The clinical nurse consultant will lead clinical management and ongoing coordination of nursing staff activities to achieve continuity of quality patient care, in conjunction with other members of the health care team.
You will need:
- Extensive experience as registered nurse with an advanced level of clinical expertise in the specialty of allergy and immunology.
- Ability to provide clinical leadership, applying the principles of risk management, quality improvement and research in the allergy and immunology setting.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and proven ability to identify, plan and deliver clinical education to a range of health professionals and consumers.
- Sound knowledge of research methodology combined with demonstrated application of evidence-based practice in a health care setting.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of policies, protocols and procedures in line with National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and organisational needs.

The Team:
The Immunology and Allergy Unit consists of a highly skilled and knowledgeable multidisciplinary team, including clinicians, nurses, scientists, pharmacists, and technicians. The unit is a relatively new statewide service and is dedicated to developing its operations to combat one of the fastest growing chronic diseases in Australia - Allergy.
Details of appointment:
Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing in April 2025 until December 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $111,506 - $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
Allowances:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
