Job description:

Seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Renal Vascular Access (CNC) to provide clinical leadership and expertise within a multidisciplinary team located at the North West Renal Satellite Unit to improve the quality and continuity of care and support provided to clients.

 

The Team:

The CNC – Renal Vascular Access RN will work in partnership with the Consultant Nephrologist, Nurse Unit Manager, Renal nursing staff, Chronic Kidney Disease CNC, Vascular Surgical Team, Specialist Clinic staff, Radiology team and other multidisciplinary team members at the Launceston General Hospital and Royal Hobart Hospital. This service will support patients attending the Renal Unit facilities and satellite units of the northern region who are undergoing dialysis or about to start dialysis. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our patients.

The Role:

  • Provide clinical leadership, consultancy, and authoritative expertise in clinical care and interventions, including knowledge and guidance for individual case management, regarding renal vascular access for all referred patients. CNC - Renal Vascular Access nurse will be a single centre point of referral and co-ordination for all renal vascular access creation, management, and education.
  • Work to ensure development of nursing practices are consistent with the broader renal specialisation and addressing inconsistencies between nursing practice and policy. Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, clinical guidelines, and protocols regarding renal vascular access, while ensuring an evidence-based nursing service through regular literature review
  • Develop and provide the delivery of patient care with respect to renal vascular access surveillance, monitoring and management through promotion of quality improvement activities, including staff competencies, audits, and data collection.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working up to 56 hours per fortnight, from as soon as we can onboard you.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

 

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse with Renal experience. 
  • Holds or is working towards relevant post graduate qualifications in renal nursing.
