Job description:

Provide efficient administrative and reception services to support the Orthopaedic Outpatient Service, utilising a range of software packages and office equipment, in accordance with established Agency policy, guidelines and procedures.

The Team: 

Orthopaedic Clinic is located within the Launceston General hospital.  The orthopaedic clinic is a dynamic environment providing orthopaedic outpatient care. 
The orthopaedic clinic team comprising of doctors, nurses, allied health practitioners and cast technicians deliver care via a variety of models of care. 
Access to orthopaedic clinic is via referral from a variety of sources: Emergency Department, Urgent Care Centres, General Practitioners, LGH wards and other specialties.

The Role:

Provide efficient administrative and reception services to support the Orthopaedic Outpatient Service, utilising a range of software packages and office equipment, in accordance with established Agency policy, guidelines and procedures.

It is preferrable that the successful applicant have:

  • Demonstrated skills in understanding contemporary office administration practices, including the ability to provide confidential, high quality administrative support in a patient focused environment.
  • Sound knowledge of, and experience in, the use of a broad range of software packages and information systems, including word processing, spreadsheets and databases and the ability to quickly become adept in the use of new systems.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communications skills, appropriate to undertaking administrative and receptions duties in a health service environment

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 56 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 19 January 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $66,049 to $70,933 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
