The Team:
The IT Support (South) Team provides 2nd and some 3rd Level remote and in person technical support to meet the requirements of the Department of Health (DoH), the Tasmanian Health Services (THS), and key vendors requesting IT Services assistance and support. The team based in Hobart supports the Royal Hobart Hospital, Hospitals South, Corporate services, and wider Southern region client base as part of the statewide HICT Client Services, with staff located in Hobart, Launceston, and Burnie. The team support several hundred applications, and over 16,000 ICT assets.
The Role:
The ICT2 Senior Support Officer - will work in close partnership with all DoH business units to:
- Provide second and some third level technical support.
- Provide clear high-level technical advice on routine operational matters.
- Contribute to a culture of high performance and teamwork.
- Contribute to a progressive collaborative, consultative and cooperative team culture.
- Deliver technical services tasks and projects, ensure agreed targets, milestones, outcomes, and standards are met.
- Lead, own, and successfully deliver designated process improvement projects in consultation with key stakeholders.
- Provide analysis and problem-solving skills in the delivery of advanced technology-based solutions.
- Self-manage delivery timelines within a high paced and complex work environment.
- Deliver interpersonal team-based process improvement, team development and peer mentoring.
You will need:
- A strong drive to contribute and exceed with a diverse customer centric, customer facing technical support background.
- Strong technical knowledge of corporate desktop operating systems, including network infrastructure, systems and security.
- The ability to manage change, including conflict situations, and to escalate effectively to achieve desired organisational outcomes.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker (with on-call) position, commencing as soon as possible.
Hours to be 08:30AM to 5:06PM - 1 hour lunch Monday through Friday. The successful applicant will be required to support an On-Call roster.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $98,255 to $103,069 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
