Job description:

Provide advice, guide and interpret frameworks to continuously improve and integrate administrative Surgical and Perioperative Services activities.

The Team:

The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is Tasmania’s largest hospital and a referral centre for complex cases from other acute care settings across Tasmania.  It’s also the principal clinical teaching hospital and research centre for the University of Tasmania School of Medicine.

The Surgical and Perioperative unit play an integral role, undertaking a range of both in-patient and out-patient services with around 3,000 other employees across the hospital providing quality healthcare for our Tasmanian community.

As the Office Manager, you will supervise a large team of admin staff, including coordinating people related matters both within the team and the broader unit.

You’ll bring your skills and experience to guide and develop your team, fostering a positive working environment where all members can grow and continuously improve services to support the health and wellbeing of all in Tasmania.

The Role:

Stepping into the role of Office Manager, you’ll coordinate and supervise the daily delivery of all aspects of administrative and clerical functions.

You’ll provide advice, guide and interpret frameworks to continuously improve and integrate administrative Surgical and Perioperative Services activities.

You’ll liaise with senior clinical and professional colleagues across the hospital, using your interpersonal skills to solve problems, provide advice and collaborate to effectively guide outcomes.

You will need to have sound experience in supervisory roles to manage the team and their ongoing work and priorities in a busy ever changing environment.

You'll have patient care at the forefront of all that you do and work with other likeminded people to ensure administrative and clerical practices support that quality patient care.

You will collaborate with others every day, within your team, the broader unit, the hospital setting and wider department and public domain.  You'll need to be service orientated and committed to continuously improving the services you provide.

Details of appointment: 

Two permanent, full time, day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
