The Department of Health is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Clinical Lead - Clinical Nurse Consultant (528724) vacancy. We are looking for clinicians with an interest in eating disorders who are innovators and have a passion for delivering quality care to join our Tasmanian Eating Disorder Service (TEDS) team.

Tasmania is part of a nationwide program of work that is delivering innovations in the treatment of eating disorders. The Tasmanian Eating Disorder Service (TEDS) is a new service, that will deliver integrated specialist care for adults with an eating disorder. This includes Community-Based Intensive Treatment (CBIT) Programs in the North, North-West and South. The statewide Residential Recovery Program (RRP) has not yet commenced development or the recruitment phase.
We are looking for clinicians with an interest in eating disorders (no prior experience in eating disorders required) who are innovators and have a passion for delivering quality care.
The Role:
As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Services Principles, National Metal Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.
The Clinical Lead - Clinical Nurse Consultant (RN Grade 6) will provide high level support to the TEDS Manager, within the South, in the provision of:
- Leadership and direction in the strategic development and management of a comprehensive multidisciplinary community mental health team.
- Effective management of specified human and physical resources.
- Leadership, direction and change management to facilitate the progression of the current Mental Health Service Strategic Plan through the implementation of the associated model of care, and relevant service policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Optimal clinical processes and individual client outcomes.
- Enhanced consumer and carer participation at all levels of the service.

Details of appointment: Registered Nurse Grade 6
Permanent full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital-based program that leads to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
- Current Working with Children Registration.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- A minimum of 3 years current post graduate experience in mental health or relevant field
- Experience and/or interest in working with people experiencing eating disorders or other mental health conditions.
- Experience in clinical and professional supervision
- Eating Disorder Credentialled practitioner
- Current Driver’s License

- Participate in the TEDS Community Based Intensive Treatment and Residential Recovery Program which delivers services for adults (16 year and older) with an eating disorder and their family and carers.
