The Team:
Public Health Services in the Tasmanian Department of Health works with government and communities to protect and promote good health and prevent disease and injury.

The Role:
As a member of the Health Improvement Unit, promote a population health approach to improving health and wellbeing and reducing health inequities through the development of policy and strategic frameworks, research, education and training, project development and evaluation.
Facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of community nutrition initiatives, policies and programs to optimise the health and wellbeing of the Tasmanian population. Work closely with other government agencies, non-government agencies and other stakeholders to identify and develop strategies to progress state and national priorities related to community nutrition.
You will need
- Demonstrated experience in a wide range of food and nutrition issues.
- High-level knowledge of current political, social, community and health service issues relevant to population health approaches to improving community nutrition.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluation programs and strategies designed to achieve outcomes to improve community nutrition.

Details of appointment: Allied Health Professional Level 3
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working up to 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 1 December 2025.
Note. This is a state-wide position and can be based in Hobart, Launceston or Burnie.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022.

- Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by Dietitians Australia or overseas qualified dietitians will be required to complete Dietetic Skill Recognition (DSR) through Dietitians Australia

Eligible to join the Accredited Practising Dietitian Program

Or where regulatory requirements exist, NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements
