The Team:
The Admissions Department is an integral part of Peri-operative Services within the Launceston General Hospital. The Admissions Department is responsible for panned admissions to the LGH, and management of the Elective (Planned) Surgery Waiting List in conjunction with the Elective Surgery Access Co-ordinators.
The Role:
- Assist the Elective Surgery Access Co-ordinators to manage the Elective Surgery Waiting List, booking patients for planned surgery at LGH, and outsourced surgery at various private facilities.
- Participate in auditing of the Elective Surgery Waiting List.
- Accurate data entry and updating of patient details in the administration system of the THS.
- Processing of patient admissions for those outsourced to private hospitals including eye surgery.
You will need:
- The successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and electronic, and should focus on the CARE values of the THS during all processes with patients.
- Excellent computer skills, communication skills and problem-solving skills are required.

Details of appointments:
Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, from 7 July 2025 until 28 November 2025.
Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 33 hours per fortnight, 19 April 2025 until 31 December 2025.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
