Job description:
Manage assigned personnel and physical resources in line with organisational policy
and strategy to ensure effective emergency response and community preparedness,
including: the supervision of operations at emergency incidents, delivery of
operational and fire safety related training, and implementation of community fire
safety and education programs.

Positions
Multiple Station Officer positions available for qualified candidates.
Hours per fortnight
84 Hours of work per fortnight in accordance with rostered shift work as described in Tasmanian Fire Fighting Industry Employees Award 2022.

Duties

Essential Requirements
- Attain the rank of Leading Firefighter in accordance with the Tasmanian Fire Fighting Industry Employees Award 2022 qualifications or equivalent.
Pre-Employment Checks
The Head of the State Service has determined that a person nominated for appointment to this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. Any relevant serious criminal offence or repeated serious offences over any period, which are not mitigated by additional information, may provide grounds for declining an application for appointment. Such offences would include, but are not limited to:
- Arson and fire setting;
- Sexual offences;
- Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud);
- Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception);
- Making false declarations;
- Violent crimes and crimes against the person;
- Malicious damage and destruction to property
- Trafficking of narcotic substance;
- False alarm raising.
Desirable Requirements
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and skills maintenance;
- Meet the medical requirements of the TFS;
- Have a high standard of health and fitness;
- Hold a current driver’s licence with ‘MR’ endorsement.
