Job description:

Midlands Multipurpose Health Centre is situated in Oatlands which is one hour north of Hobart

The Team:

Midlands Multipurpose Health Centre is situated in Oatlands which is one hour north of Hobart.

The Centre is comprised of 18 aged care beds, an urgent care centre and 4 rural health beds. 

The Role:

In accordance with Agency policies, procedures and infection control protocols and guidelines, the Domestic Services Officer will:

  • Perform a wide range of high standard cleaning services for wards and other areas within the Midlands Multi-Purpose Health Centre (MMPHC).
  • Provide a laundry service to MMPHC.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks and delivery of patient’s/resident’s meals.

Duties: 

  • Clean and maintain a sterile environment within the facility, and other associated areas, as per cleaning schedule, methods, policies and procedures and may include floors, bathrooms, toilets and patient areas by dusting, vacuuming, washing, scrubbing and spot cleaning.
  • Perform infection control cleaning tasks as per Infection Control policies and procedures, including maintaining and sanitising all dining areas and other related cleaning tasks or duties including collecting and removing domestic waste to appropriate areas such as the removal of trade refuse.
  • Ensure safe manual handling techniques are used in the operation of equipment and report any faults, in a timely manner, to enable corrective action to be taken.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 44.5 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: 

$59,930 to $61,367 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
