$95,275 to $108,150 pro rata, per annum

Period of Employment
Fixed-term, full-time (and part-time hours available), working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing 14 April 2025 until 12 January 2026. (Please note opportunity for 24-month appointments may arise from this selection process)

Duties
The Resident Medical Officer is responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital (or rural facility). Provide after-hours emergency cover as determined by the relevant work unit.
RHH Emergency Medicine RMO 12-month rotation
RHH offer 12-month RMO rotations in ED. The ED RMO rotation can be selected under the RHH training stream preferences section in this application form.

Essential Requirements
- General or unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer of any new criminal convictions and/or if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
- Conviction checks in the following areas:
- Crimes of violence
- Sex related offences
- Serious drug offences
- Crimes involving dishonesty

- Disciplinary action in previous employment check
Desirable Requirements:
- Current Driver’s Licence (If applicable to allocated role)
Working Environment:
- The position will require the occupant to participate in after-hours work
