Job description:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior IT Officer to join an innovative team, managing digital infrastructure technologies at the Department of Health.

The Team:

Exciting opportunity to join an innovative team managing digital infrastructure technologies. Providing support to the Department of Health by managing storage and server resources. Focus on ongoing professional and career development.

The Role:

In partnership with Department of Health (DoH) stakeholders, and under the direction of the Manager - Servers, the Senior IT Officer - Servers will support operational management of DoH computer, storage and core infrastructure to ensure continuity of service delivery.

The senior IT Officer - Servers will undertake research, analysis and technical activities required to design, develop, commission, maintain, administer and support both in-house and externally provided IT computer and storage infrastructure services.

You will need to:

1. Administer and support DoH computer and storage environments, including:

  • Assist with server and storage design and development.
  • Plan, assist and implement system upgrades.
  • Report, track, troubleshoot and resolve issues.

2. Provide second and third level technical support.

3. Undertake investigations and research related to server and storage administration and support, security, integration and overall lifecycle management.

Details of appointment: ICT, Level 2

Fixed term, full time, day worker with on-call position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 7 November 2025.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: 

$98,255 to $103,069 per annum + our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Degree or tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Relevant IT industry experience

Applicants should note, the position features:

  • Some regular out of hours work may be required to meet specific needs or deadlines
  • Participation in a rostered on-call team to provide out of core hours support may be required
  • Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required
