Job description:

Seeking a Director of Nursing to be part of the innovative Primary Health North leadership team. Lead and manage a range of inpatient/residential/community based services provided from the relevant rural health facility including the management of resources; and undertake a leadership role in ensuring that clinical and support services/infrastructure meet quality and safety standards and are in accordance with Agency performance objectives and community expectations.

In Primary Health North (PHN) we are committed to transforming healthcare delivery by providing high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centred care in the comfort of patients’ homes or close to their communities.  As part of Hospitals North, our services use the 'Compassion', 'Accountability', 'Respect' and 'Excellence' (CARE) values to underpin how we work together, provide care and support patients, staff and community every day.    Campbell Town Hospital and Community Health Service (CTHCS) situated in the Northern Midlands just 45 minutes from Launceston, is one of eight district hospitals in Primary Health North (PHN).  As part of Hospitals North, PHN and CTHCS work closely with Launceston General Hospital, our main referral hospital, to enable care at the right time and in the right place for clients in our local and the wider community.

As Director of Nursing, you:

  • Will be part of the innovative Primary Health North leadership team catering for health care needs of Tasmanians in community and rural and remote settings.
  • Work with and lead an experienced and supportive local team of keen professionals providing wholistic care to residential aged care, inpatient, emergency, community nursing and community services and day centre clients accessing CTHCS
  • Will play a key role in leading implementation of Aged Care reforms across CTHCS and PHN and will have an opportunity to positively influence care delivery across the service.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join our team.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $138,478 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type 

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

Regional Allowances:

  • Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of an additional salary allowance of 4%  

Benefits available to eligible candidates:

  • Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
  • Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
