Job description:

The Tasmania Eating Disorder team, based in Hobart's CBD manages, provides psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions to people with an eating disorder, whilst also raising community awareness relating to eating disorders and develops and enhances relationships with other mental health service providers.

The Team:

Tasmania is part of a nationwide program of work that is delivering innovations in the treatment of eating disorders. The Tasmania Eating Disorder Service (TEDS) is a new service, that delivers integrated specialist care for adults with an eating disorder. This includes Community-Based Intensive Treatment (CBIT) Programs in the North, North West and South and a statewide Residential Recovery Program (RRP).

The Psychologist TEDS South provides and promotes:

  • Quality psychological service utilising evidence-based and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
  • Evidence-based psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions to people with an eating disorder and their families or carers.
  • Community awareness in relation to eating disorders and develops and enhances relationships with other mental health service providers, acting as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with eating disorders.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: 

$110,425 to $126,703 per annum + our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances:

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Experience working with people experiencing eating disorders or other mental health conditions.
  • Endorsement by the Psychology Board of Australia as a Clinical Psychologist
  • Post-graduate degree in Psychology
  • Eating Disorder Credentialled practitioner
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Where required for a particular role:
  • Area of Practice Endorsement ie Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, Counselling Psychology, Community Psychology, Educational and Developmental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, Organisational Psychology, or Sport and Exercise Psychology

Applicants should note, the position features:

  • Participate in the TEDS Community Based Intensive Treatment and Residential Recovery Program which delivers services for adults (16 year and older) with an eating disorder and their family and carers.
