We are seeking senior allied health professionals with experience in clinical leadership, complex case management, assessment, counselling and/or therapy, and within mental health or relevant/related sector would be ideal. You would be working within a well-supported, innovative, diverse multidisciplinary team to provide developmentally appropriate treatment with young people, and their families.
Our Aim:
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in Tasmania is growing! We are seeking passionate and dedicated Lead Practitioners to provide clinical services to young people and their families/significant others experiencing mental health concerns. The positions available are within our new teams which are currently being developed as initiatives under the CYMHS reform program (Youth, Youth Forensic, Out of Home Care).
The Lead Practitioner will have a passion for providing a person-centred approach and working within a multidisciplinary team environment, providing high level clinical leadership to the team.
- Leadership training is available and provided by the Tasmanian Health Service in partnership with University of Tasmania.
The Allied Health Professional -Lead Practitioner works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide clinical care to a high standard within a designated program or region or statewide stream. Working within a Multidisciplinary team framework, and supporting other staff within the discipline.
The role will include:
- Being part of a dynamic and well supported team committed to delivering high quality mental health services to young people, and their families/carers.
- Undertaking clinical services through the provision of complex case management, assessment, and individual therapies, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs
- Working alongside innovative team leaders and consultant psychiatrists to develop new youth mental health services in Tasmania.
- Leading and working with an amazing and diverse group of clinicians as part of the collaborative multidisciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.

Details of Appointment
One permanent full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $123,717 - $134,336 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

- Satisfactory completion of an appropriate allied health professional course of study at a recognised tertiary institution and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.
