
The Team:
The Nursing & Midwifery (N&M) Workforce and Wellbeing Team addresses workforce and wellbeing issues by implementing recruitment and retention strategies, analysing trends, ensuring safe staffing levels, and developing sustainable policies. Collaborating with departments, the team equips healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care, fostering a positive workplace culture that enhances job satisfaction and patient outcomes.
The Role:
This Project Nurse – Nursing and Midwifery Recruitment Workforce Project (RN Grade 6) focuses on workforce planning. Key responsibilities include:

Leading workforce projects to enhance nursing and midwifery staffing with a focus on benchmarking.

Conducting workforce research to inform policy and planning.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to address workforce challenges.

Preparing workforce reports and educational initiatives.
You will need
- A broad and demonstrated understanding of the current healthcare system and knowledge of national and international trends relating to the nursing and midwifery professions, workforce and service delivery.
- High level analytical, conceptual, strategic, research and creative skills and the ability to apply these within political, industrial and organisational environments.
- Proven ability to apply rigorous project management methodology in managing a broad range of projects to meet agreed time, cost and quality outcomes.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 56 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately twelve (12) months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
