Job description:

Oatlands Midlands Multi-Purpose Health Centre (MMPHC) is looking for a Health Care Assistant to join their small and rural inpatient health facility.

The Team:

Small rural inpatient health facility, be part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team in Oatlands Tasmania.  

Midlands Multi-Purpose Health Centre (MMPHC) is located in Oatlands a small community located an hour’s drive north of Hobart.  Oatlands is one of Tasmania’s oldest settlements and it noted for its architecture of Georgian colonial sandstone buildings. MMPHC is a 22 bed multipurpose health facility with 18 residential aged care beds, 4 acute inpatient beds and an emergency room. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, and in accordance with Agency policy, legal, regulatory and funded program requirements, the Health Care Assistant:

  • Delivers high quality care and support to the aged care residents and patients at the Midlands Multi Purpose Health Centre (MMPHC).
  • Assists residents and patients with a range of daily living activities.

You will need to:

  • Undertake a range of personal care and daily living activities for the residents and patients of the MMPHC under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse.
  • Liaise with and provide regular feedback to health care providers within the immediate team in relation to changes in resident/patient health status.
  • Complete relevant documentation including resident daily progress notes, service activity and assessments for residents.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $63,110 to $66,049 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
