Job description:

The Jack Jumper Allergy Program is the only manufacturer of Jack Jumper Ant Venom Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient in Australia which is used to treat those allergic to the Jack Jumper Ant.

The Team:

The Jack Jumper Allergy Program is the only manufacturer of Jack Jumper Ant Venom Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient in Australia which is used to treat those allergic to the Jack Jumper Ant. The highly diverse and collaborative team consists of Medical Scientists, Pharmacists, Technicians and Medical staff. 

The Role:

Key duties/responsibilities include:
 
Perform venom sac dissection of the Jack Jumper (Myrmecia Pilosula) Ant to support the manufacturing of Ant Venom Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API).
 
Assist the Pharmacist (Manufacturing) in the manufacture of Jack Jumper (API), Clinical Use Venom and diluent in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice Principles.
 
Prepare instruments and consumables used in the manufacturing of Venom products for sterilisation processing including packaging and regular testing of sterilisation equipment in accordance with established guidelines and protocols and complying with relevant Australian Standards for sterilisation including Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention Scheme (PICS) Guides.
 
Collection of raw materials (ant collection) in bushland areas within Tasmania.
 
Maintain meticulous records of work performed according to documented policies and procedures.
 
Assist the Quality Manager in the maintenance of protocols, equipment, reagents, standards, and consumables to ensure an uninterrupted service as far as possible.
 
Assist with administrative tasks including ordering stock, filing, telephone and data entry.

You will need

  • Demonstrated medical laboratory and microscopy skills and/or experience working as a technician in a pharmacy manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge, experience and/or qualifications in hospital sterilising technology or the willingness to undertake a course relevant to the work.
  • Ability to follow pre-determined procedures accurately and diligently with attention to detail.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar casual vacancies.

Salary: 

$73,811 to $79,779 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Plus 25% Casual Loading - Equivalent of $46.51 to $50.26 per hour.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • An Associate Diploma from a recognised tertiary institution, or an equivalent qualification, appropriate to the nature of the work.
