Job description:

Coordinating data analysis, research, and reporting services to enhance data governance and optimize the collection of hospital activity data. Supporting the development of business improvement processes and programs aimed at establishing a high-performing statewide health and hospital system.

The Role:

  • Provide direct support to the Manager of CFA, including high level, executive clerical, human resources, operational, financial resources and secretarial support.
  • Provide high-level complex data and administrative support to the Clinical Financial Analytics Team (CFA) contributing to the efficient operation of the business unit and maintaining the smooth flow of the incoming data request.
  • Coordinating and delivering the data literacy program and develop complex technical and user documentation to support this program including data classification, cataloguing, storing, and maintaining records and information assets to a high-quality.
  • Coordinating data analysis, research, and reporting services to enhance data governance and optimize the collection of hospital activity data. Supporting the development of business improvement processes and programs aimed at establishing a high-performing statewide health and hospital system.
  • Support the development of systems, protocols, training, and education which will ensure an efficient and improved understanding and useability of business intelligence systems and software, to and from, all areas of the Department.

The Skill Outline:

  • Highly advanced executive support skills, including a high level of organisational skills, judgement and attention to detail. High level administrative skills including the preparation of confidential documentation, meeting coordination, and correspondence handling.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of contemporary office management practices, conventions and protocols including knowledge of, and experience in, the use of a wide range of generic computer software packages, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook, together with the ability to learn other program specific software.
  • Possess sound knowledge and experience in utilizing information systems and analysing data using basic statistical principles, with a demonstrated high level of proficiency in relevant software packages for storing, presenting, and evaluating data.

The Team:
 
CFA (Clinical and Financial Analytics) is a dynamic team within MRA (Monitoring, Reporting and Analysis)/ SMR (System Management and Reform) of Department of Health. CFA is responsible for:
  • Collaboration with clinical and operational leaders to define data reporting and predictive analysis needs.
  • Ensuring the Statewide hospital activity data is reproducible, clearly defined, dated, and extracted from core clinical and where applicable, corporate systems.
  • Implementing data models to predict future trends in hospital admissions, bed occupancy, and resource requirements to improve decision-making.
CFA is structure into three key functional groups (Data Science, Data Development and Data Information), supported by a multidisciplinary team of current 8 professional s with expertise across Health, Mathematics, Process Engineering, Information Technology, Computer science and Business Analysis. Staff are encouraged to develop a multi-disciplinary skill set and enable to contribute to different functional areas as needed. This collaborative approach fosters flexibility, enhances knowledge transfer, and builds a more resilient team that can adapt to the dynamic demands of healthcare analytics.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Relevant tertiary education or equivalent

  • Previous experience in a field associated with health analytics.

  • Current Driver’s Licence.
