
The Team:
As a Food Services Officer, you’ll be part of a dedicated team that plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of patients and staff across Tasmania’s public hospitals and health facilities. The team works collaboratively to ensure the safe preparation, handling, and delivery of nutritious meals that meet diverse dietary and clinical needs. With a strong focus on hygiene, efficiency, and teamwork, the Food Services team contributes directly to patient care and recovery in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
The Role:
As a Food Services Officer, you will be responsible for the preparation, portioning, and delivery of meals to patients, staff, and visitors in a healthcare setting. Your role ensures meals meet dietary, nutritional, and hygiene standards, supporting patient recovery and wellbeing. You’ll work as part of a collaborative team, maintaining food safety protocols, operating kitchen equipment, and contributing to a clean and efficient food service environment.
You will need:
- Knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Good communication and time management skills

Details of appointment:
Multiple permanent full time, shift worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $57,130 to $62,486 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
