Provide the primary point of contact in the Minister’s Office for Homes Tasmania. Coordinate a range of complex administrative and communication activities to support the operations of the Minister’s Office.

$ 81,915.00 to $ 94,263.00 pro rata, per annum - plus 11.5 % Superannuation

Period of employment / Hours:

Permanent full-time (76.00 hours per fortnight) day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation) - 2 Vacancies.

Duties:

Primary Purpose / Focus :

  • Provide the primary point of contact in the Minister’s Office for Homes Tasmania.
  • Coordinate a range of complex administrative and communication activities to support the operations of the Minister’s Office.

Skills and experience :

Selection criteria includes:

  • Understanding, or ability to acquire an understanding, of the functions and operation of the Tasmanian Government, including the functions of executive government and the operation of the Cabinet system, Parliament, including procedures associated with legislation, and relevant agencies of other governments, together with experience in public sector administration, ministerial correspondence, policy development and research.
  • Good communication skills, demonstrating initiative, judgement and discretion when dealing with sensitive issues, including the ability to understand the political, social and organisational environment.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and liaise effectively with staff and clients at all levels.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

    • b)  sex related offences
    • c)  serious drug offences
    • d)  crimes involving dishonesty
    • e)  serious traffic offences  (If Driver's License is an Essential Requirement )
  • 2.  Identification check
  • 3.  Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
