Job description:

The Royal Hobart Hospital seeks a highly motivated and team orientated Administrative Service Manager for Cancer Services to provide leadership and direction to support the administrative team care for patients within Southern Tasmania who have been diagnosed with Cancer and/or Haematological disorders.

The Royal Hobart Hospital seeks a highly motivated and team orientated Administrative Service Manager for Cancer Services to provide leadership and direction to support the administrative team care for patients within Southern Tasmania who have been diagnosed with Cancer and/or Haematological disorders. 

Cancer and Blood Services (CaBS) at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH), is a comprehensive service dedicated to cancer and blood disorder patients including the state-wide bone marrow transplant service. The units work together to provide treatment, research, clinical trials and education regarding these diseases and survivorship care.

The Role:

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery responsibilities of the administrative staff that support the Cancer and Blood Services, Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).
  • Build and maintain a team of administrative staff including co-ordinating workloads, monitoring performance and ensuring duties operate efficiently and effectively across the Cancer and Blood Service areas within the RHH.
  • Provide advice and input into improving and implementing processes for the management of outpatients across the Southern Cancer and Blood Services including health information, patient co-ordination and billing.

You will need:

  • Proven experience in co-ordinating a team of administrative support staff within available resources and ensuring day to day operations are undertaken in accordance with well-defined procedures and within tight timeframes and competing priorities to meet organisation needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a clinical setting, together with broad experience in contemporary office management practices and extensive use of office management and health information software.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain an accurate, computerised health information system, including providing information technology support, monitoring data integrity, investigating/auditing data and actioning strategies as appropriate to ensure compliance and conformity of system use by all stakeholders.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, Full Time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $98,255 to $103,069 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
