Job description:

The Aged Care Reform Unit (ACRU) is looking for a motivated Project Officer to coordinate and lead designated ACRU projects

The Team:

The Aged Care Reform Unit works at a statewide level to support the care and services delivered by the Tasmanian Health Service to older Tasmanians. The Unit has oversight and contract management of Australian Government funded aged care within the Tasmanian Health Service. 

The Role:

This role will support implementation of reforms related to the introduction of the new Aged Care Act for operational units that deliver Australian Government funded aged care within Tasmanian Health Service.

As a member of the Aged Care Reform Unit (ACRU) the Project Officer coordinates and leads designated ACRU projects as required, plans, undertakes, coordinates, and delivers a range of approved project initiatives across ACRU and maintains effective relationships with stakeholders to support the implementation of project activities.

You will need

  • Demonstrated in-depth experience in project management, including organisational skills to plan, coordinate and be responsible for several concurrent project activities while working in an environment subject to strict timeframes and change.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, be analytical and creative, and to understand and analyse the complex organisational, social, economic, and political factors that impact on, and inform on, project initiatives within the public service.
  • Proven high level interpersonal and communication skills, together with the ability to consult and negotiate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, confidently and clearly convey information, ideas and resolve complex issues, utilising initiative and professional judgment.
  • Provide project management services by collaboratively planning, delivering, and implementing project and activity outputs as directed by the ADON - Aged Care Reform.
  • Support the implementation of new initiatives and service improvements through the delivery of effective project management processes, providing specialist advice and coordination to ensure project activities are aligned to Agency policies, core business functions and relevant legislation, including identifying issues and supporting meetings and negotiations.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 1 August to 31 December 2027.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
