About the Role

As the Manager – Applications Services, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for the administration, support, and optimisation of Homes Tasmania’s core business applications. You’ll play a key role in ensuring a stable and efficient digital environment that enables our staff to deliver housing solutions across Tasmania.  This role is a member of the ITMS leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and digital transformation across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Applications Services team in delivering application support, maintenance, and training.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts.
  • Oversee help desk operations (Level 1 and 2) and coordinate Level 3 support.
  • Drive continuous improvement and respond to emerging technologies, including AI.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and internal policies.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and child-safe workplace culture.
  • Contribute to ITMS-wide initiatives and strategic leadership.

What We’re Looking For

Skills & Experience

  • Strategic leader with a strong background in applications management and a passion for digital transformation
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering responsive, user-focused support services that enhance organisational capability and satisfaction
  • Proven ability to lead application services teams and manage business-critical systems in a dynamic, change-driven environment
  • Extensive experience in administering, supporting, and optimising business applications and tools, with a focus on continuous improvement and user enablement.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of recent industry experience.
  • Experience in applications management, help desk services, and vendor contract management.
  • ITIL®, project management, or change management certification.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Employment type).
  • Ability to satisfy pre-employment checks including:
    • Conviction checks (violence, sex offences, drugs, dishonesty, serious traffic offences)
    • Identification verification
    • Employment disciplinary history

Location & Hours

  • Employment Type: Permanent full-time (76 hours per fortnight)
  • Work Type: Day work; part-time hours may be considered
  • Location: State-wide – specific location negotiable with the successful applicant
