Job description:

BreastScreen Tasmania provides a supportive, inclusive workplace dedicated to the early detection of breast cancer in asymptomatic women, improving health outcomes for our community. The Screening Services Officer will provide an efficient, personal and friendly reception service for clients and staff at BreastScreen Tasmania screening and assessment clinics

The Role:

  • Provide an efficient, personal and friendly reception service for clients and staff at BreastScreen Tasmania screening and assessment clinics.
  • Book clients for screening mammogram appointments in a busy call centre environment.
  • Answer general enquiries and client requests for information in accordance with established guidelines, procedures and BreastScreen Tasmania policies.
  • Maintain medical records, including entering client information, symptoms and family history into the electronic client information system and assigning client screening profiles accordingly.
  • Process, distribute and coordinate digital radiographic images for reading by radiologists.
  • Prepare client files for multi-disciplinary review meetings.
  • Liaise with health professionals, including radiographers, radiologists, general practitioners and external stakeholders on day-to-day administrative issues.
  • Organise the retrieval of client paper files from archives as required.
  • Type medical imaging reports from digital dictation transcription software.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.
  • The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing high level client service in a client-facing role.
  • Experience in working in a health service delivery environment, together with knowledge of medical data entry or the ability to acquire such knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently in a well-organised manner while focusing on detail, in an environment subject to rapid change, work pressures and deadlines.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar casual vacancies.

Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:
