Job description:

The Endoscopy Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant.

The Team:

The Endoscopy Unit is a specialised component of the Short Stay Suite, which sits within the broader Perioperative Precinct.  A fast paced, high turnover unit which will provide you with many learning opportunities across a diverse range of endoscopy nursing skill sets. You will strengthen health outcomes through the provision of safe, quality nursing care in partnership with patients, their families and other health professionals.

The Role:

Take a lead role in improving how care is delivered in the Endoscopy Unit, using best practice to support learning, research, and high-quality outcomes.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Practice and Standards (Endoscopy): 

  • Provides advanced clinical leadership, direction, and change management to facilitate the progression of strategic objectives for the Endoscopy Unit through the development and implementation of associated standards of practice, models of care, relevant service policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provides advanced clinical expertise and leadership in patient safety and quality initiatives within the Endoscopy Unit and offer specialist advice, information, and consultation to staff to meet statutory, policy and regulatory requirements related to safety and quality including the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.

You will need:

  • Extensive experience with a demonstrated advanced level of clinical expertise in endoscopy nursing.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide contemporary leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of clinical practice, together with the ability to initiate, guide and motivate a multidisciplinary team in the development, implementation and evaluation of innovation and change development, quality improvement and clinical risk management activities to address emerging service needs in relation to Safety and Quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice through planning, quality improvement and research.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for approximately twelve (12) months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
