Job description:

We are seeking caring, patient and empathetic applicants wishing to dedicate their time to providing quality personal and diversional care to adult patients within the Launceston General Hospital.

The Role:

The Care Assistant (Pool) provides dedicated care to assigned clients with disability, bariatric or behavioural impairments within Hospitals North – Launceston General Hospital setting under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN). Works within the duties of the Patient Safety Assistant role as per the Patient Safety Assistant (PSA) Clinical Guidelines, the Patient Safety Assistant Responsibilities and other relevant policies and procedures.

  • Care assistants (Pool) are supported in their role by an experienced Nursing Team from the Pool Office as well as nursing staff within clinical areas.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $63,110 to $66,049 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Certificate III/IV in Health Care or equivalent or Health Professional undergraduate student or qualification.
  • Current first aid certificate.
