Job description:

The Department of Health are seeking a highly self-motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Perioperative Services team

The Team:

Our perioperative service is one of the most dynamic and rewarding environments within the health system. As Tasmania’s only Level 6 tertiary referral hospital, we provide a comprehensive range of highly specialised surgical services, supporting patients with the most complex healthcare needs from across the state.

The Role:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Data Coordinator is an experienced nurse who, within the defined area of practice:

  • Works in partnership with the relevant clinical leader and/or manager to ensure accurate and timely data is captured from multiple information systems.

  • Provides expert clinical interpretation and analysis of this data to prepare reports, dashboards, and improvement plans that inform decision-making and drive efficiency across perioperative services.

  • Leads the translation of data insights into practical strategies that enhance service delivery, improve patient outcomes, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of care for Tasmanians.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge in data extraction, analysis and report development.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the evaluation, innovation and development of services provided by the unit/service and the review of clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications
  • Experience in either surgical, burns, oncology, critical care or emergency nursing
  • Experience in data management or within a clinical research environment
