Clinical Lead Physiotherapist – AHP Level 4 – Musculoskeletal & Rheumatology

Permanent, Full time, 76h per fortnight

Tasmanian Health Service – North (Launceston General Hospital)

To be Tasmanian is to value quality over quantity. We create, preserve, and protect the unusual. With quiet confidence, with passion and perseverance, we pursue the extraordinary. Could you be Tasmanian?

You’re working to the top of your physiotherapy scope, providing high-value care to patients with chronic and complex rheumatology and musculoskeletal conditions and optimising the use of your expert skills. And these skills are in high demand everywhere. What’s different about Tasmania though, is our culture and our lifestyle. Here you will be encouraged to be yourself, to grow and to maximise the meaning in your work. You will have a powerful connection to your patients, and you’ll champion the cause of your profession in multi-disciplinary, team-based environments. Our isolation helps drive a culture of creation and human connection, which feels both old fashioned and… like the only future worth pursuing.

Our way of life here is centred on meaning. Creating, conserving, exploring, connecting. We don't sit in traffic at the end of the day, we spend more of our time doing the things we love. We are small enough here for uniqueness to stand out and be celebrated. Yet we are big enough for you to feel part of something important, somewhere you can belong and be surrounded by diversity, friendships, and positive lifestyles. Tasmanians are connected to the land where we live, and to the stories of the people who have cared for this place for thousands of years.

We offer an exciting and rewarding place to work, featuring contemporary, evidence-informed practice that sees our staff closely linked to the broader multidisciplinary team. We are a team comprised of a mix of passionate locals and new Tasmanian adventurers who will welcome your energy and experiences into the group dynamic.

The position:

  • This newly established Advanced Scope Physiotherapy role will see you providing Physiotherapy management within the Specialised Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal clinics within the Launceston General Hospital
  • Actively contribute to the development of these new clinics, supporting clients from the North and North-West of Tasmania
  • Be part of the broader Physiotherapy and Allied Health group that are dedicated to the development of our people
  • Collaborate with other advanced scope and specialist physiotherapists to provide clinical leadership and uphold best practice standards across the region
  • Engage in and lead research initiatives in the field of rheumatological physiotherapy, driving evidence-based practice and innovation
  • Support and mentor emerging physiotherapists within the Musculoskeletal stream, sharing your expertise and fostering clinical growth

Claire, one of our advanced scope Physiotherapists would be most happy to hear from you to answer questions about her journey to Tasmania, and how she finds working in the health service and Physiotherapy team: claire.bergenroth@ths.tas.gov.au
