Job description:

The Role:

The Team Leader – Clinical Pharmacy acts as an expert in the provision of clinical pharmacy services, providing advice and support across a broad range of clinical pharmacy issues to both internal and external stakeholders and participates as a member of the Tasmanian clinical pharmacy management team and provide leadership in the design, operation, and evaluation of clinical pharmacy services, policy review, training and project work as required.

Pharmacy Careers in the Tasmanian Health Service

You will need to:

  • Operate independently in the provision of complex pharmacy activities to patients of the Tasmanian Health Service by demonstrating advanced knowledge, skills and experience relevant to pharmacy practice and provision of pharmaceutical information and providing professional advice and consultancy services to other disciplines and the public.
  • Supervise pharmacy teams under the broad delegation of the relevant pharmacy service manager, including direction of work priorities and practices; monitoring workflow; management of staff, professional supervision and development, performance appraisal and implementing programs and strategies to address identified training needs (including within an extended hours framework as appropriate). 
  • Lead, initiate and participate in the development and monitoring of policies and standard operating procedures for clinical pharmacy services.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term part time, shift worker position (including week ends), working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 2 January 2027.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

Allowances: 

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme 

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata is approved until 17 May 2026, this allowance will be reviewed prior to expiry
  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Recognition at either Registrar or Consultant level with the Australian & New Zealand College of Advanced Pharmacy (ANZCAP) in a relevant discipline or relevant postgraduate qualification in pharmacy and/or management

Position Features:

  • Participation in an on call and weekend roster, with other pharmacists, for out-of-hours provision of pharmacy services is required.
  • Occasional intra and interstate travel may be required for all roles.
