Job description:

The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Aged Care is the clinical lead of the area and works collaboratively with nursing, medical and allied health clinicians on the Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) – Lyell House.

The Team:

The successful applicant will be one of the leaders of a team of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Personal Carer Assistants, Lifestyle staff, doctors, administration staff and housekeeping who provide a nurturing, engaging, caring and fun environment for the residents of Lyell House.  Family members loved ones, and external stakeholders are included in care planning and activities. 

The Role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Aged Care (CNC - Aged Care) is the clinical lead of the area and works collaboratively with nursing, medical and allied health clinicians on the Residential Aged Care Home (RACH) – Lyell House to:

  • Foster an environment of comfort, care, safety and support for the residents of Lyell House and their loved ones, facilitating inclusion in decision-making, activities and choice. 
  • Lead and promote the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice clinical and organisational principles specifically in alignment with the Aged Care Quality Standards and requirements, including oversight of monitoring and auditing of standards.  
  • Maintain a collaborative partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support and promote an environment that fosters staff education and learning, quality improvement and compliance requirements of the service.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies

Salary $114,851 - $121,886 per annum.  Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Regional Allowances:

  • Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an additional salary allowance of 10%

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Holds, or working towards, relevant postgraduate tertiary qualifications
  2. Current Driver’s Licence
