The Team:
The LGH Sterilising Department team includes a Nurse Unit Manager, Registered Nurse, System’s Administrative Officer, Loan Set Coordinator and multiple Sterilising Technicians. The Role:
The Sterilising Department Technician is responsible for the identification of, handling, decontamination, packaging, sterilisation and dispatch of Reusable Medical Devices (RMD's). These are distributed to the Operating Room Suite (ORS), internal wards, departments and external customers.
You will need:
- Knowledge of, and experience in, sterilising technology and/or qualifications in, or willingness to undertake, a Sterilising Technology course.
- Ability to obtain a thorough knowledge of instruments/equipment and supplies processed in SD, and to initiate appropriate action and follow protocols for the decontamination and sterilisation of equipment.
- Knowledge of infection control principles applicable to the sterilisation department processes and procedures, as guided by AS5369:2023 Standard.

Details of appointment:
Multiple permanent full time and part time, shift worker (set rotational) positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you would like to join our team.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $67,193 to $72,126 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
