Job description:

Come and join the Budget Development and Advice team, who play a pivotal role in supporting the Department of Health’s financial management and strategic planning.

 

The Team:

The Budget Development and Advice team plays a pivotal role in supporting the Department of Health’s financial management and strategic planning. The team:

  • Leads the development of the Department’s budget, ensuring alignment with government priorities and internal planning frameworks.
  • Provides consolidated financial reporting and analysis to the Executive, offering insights into the Agency’s overall financial position.
  • Supports corporate and policy areas by delivering financial advice and analytical support to inform decision-making and resource allocation.

The Role:

The Senior Business Analyst assists the relevant Manager in the review and monitoring of the Department of Health ‘s(DoH) performance in relation to budgetary and financial targets including:

  • The coordination, review and analysis of information as part of the annual Budget development process including liaison with a wide range of employees throughout the DoH.
  • The review and ongoing maintenance and management of budget management/financial systems and data
  • The coordination and preparation of regular and ad-hoc reports, correspondence and advice to senior management and liaison with a wide range of employees throughout DoH.

You will need to:

  1. Assist in the coordination, review and analysis of information as part of the annual Budget development process.
  2. Undertake review projects and other research and analysis in relation to budgetary and financial management matters. 
  3. Assist in the maintenance and ongoing administration of budgetary and financial management systems.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, together with membership of, or progression towards, either CPA Australia or the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand
