Job description:

The Oral Health Services Tasmania team is seeking a designated driver to provide efficient transport services using self-drive mobile dental vans.

The Team:

OHST is a team of approximately 300 people including dentists, oral health therapists, dental prosthetists, technicians, dental assistants and administrative staff. Care is provided from 33 clinics around Tasmania. Adult services are predominantly provided from 6 major centres located in Hobart (New Town), Clarence, Glenorchy, Launceston, Devonport and Burnie as well as the 3 Special Care Dental Units (located within hospital precincts). Child and Adolescent Services are provided predominantly from 23 community clinics which are either located in a community health centre or are a stand-alone clinic.

The Role:

Provide an efficient and effective driving service for Oral Health Services Tasmania (OHST), including the timely delivery, set-up and pack-up of mobile dental vans to schools and various other off-site locations around Tasmania. For further information on the roles and responsibilities of the position please refer to the statement of duties.

You will need to:

  • Drive OHST’s self-drive mobile dental vans between their designated parking spot (located near-to or onsite at a major dental clinic) to targeted schools located around the state.
  • Set-up and pack-down the dental van ready for clinical treatment as per the Operators Manual; ensuring the required administrative records are maintained.
  • Refuel and restock the dental vans when necessary, ensuring the onboard water tank is also kept full and the grey waste-water tank is emptied at an appropriate sewerage drain when required.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $63,110 to $66,049 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Current Driver’s Licence (LR-Class)

  • Current Working with Children Registration
