We are seeking applicants who can provide exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for the hospital, who have a high level of attention to detail and outstanding communication skills.
The Team:
The Switchboard Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, working across 3 shifts, 7am - 3pm (Day), 3pm - 11pm (Afternoon) and 11pm - 7am (Night). Night shift is in the Emergency Department, working as both Switchboard and the Emergency Triage Clerk. Operators will be required to operate the ARC Telephone Console, admit patients, assist staff, patients and visitors who present at reception and greet new and locum doctors to the hospital, whilst providing the accommodation keys. Successful applicants are encouraged to consider their availability for short notice call in across all shifts when applying. There is also opportunity for the successful applicant to work across both the North West Regional Hospital and Mersey Community Hospital sites. Applicants will be asked to confirm their availability as part of the application process.

The Role:
In a multi-skilled environment, the Communication Support Officer will:
- Provide clients with a professional and confidential receptions service, through the Switchboard, Main Reception and Emergency Department Reception. This includes providing immediate attention to patients presenting for treatment.
- Undertake all administrative functions associated with the processing of emergency admissions and after hours direct admissions.
- Work across a multi-disciplinary work environment

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working 32 hours per fortnight, to commence as soon as possible until 12 October 2026 months. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $73,811 to $79,799 per annum, Pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Agreement (Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022).
