The Team:
The NWRH kitchen team is a dedicated and hardworking group committed to supporting patient wellbeing through the delivery of safe, nutritious, high-quality meals. As part of the Department of Health, the team plays an essential role in the overall patient journey by providing fresh-cooked food that promotes comfort and recovery.
Working alongside clinical and support services, the kitchen maintains a collaborative and respectful environment focused on reliable service, strong food safety standards, and continuous improvement. The Role:
This position forms an integral part of the kitchen operations, contributing to the preparation and production of fresh, nutritious meals for patients across the hospital. The role involves working in a structured, fast-paced environment where consistency, quality, and safety are prioritised. You will join a supportive team that values professionalism, reliability, and a shared commitment to excellent food service within the Department of Health.
You will need
-
A relevant trade qualification in commercial cookery (Essential).

Competence in large-scale food production, including the ability to follow dietary requirements and maintain food safety standards.

Strong organisational and teamwork skills, with the ability to work efficiently and contribute positively within a busy kitchen environment.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term part time, shift worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 30 April 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
