The Role:
We are seeking compassionate, skilled, and team-oriented Registered Nurses to join our multidisciplinary team at West Coast District Hospital, providing care across:
- Emergency First Response Care
- Sub-Acute Inpatient services
- Residential aged care home
As a Registered Nurse, you will:
- Deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred nursing care in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate care in accordance with professional standards and best practice guidelines.
- Contribute to a positive team culture and actively participate in safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Engage in professional development and support the learning of others through orientation and preceptorship.
You will need:
- Clinical Capability: Sound knowledge of nursing principles and the ability to apply them across emergency, inpatient, and aged care settings.
- Teamwork & Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to Quality: Understanding of continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time and part time, shift worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:
$78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4 through a Formal Capability Assessment, demonstrating advanced practice, leadership, and contribution to clinical education, safety and quality, and practice development.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type (RN)
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including up to $9,010 for living expenses + $2,650 for meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Regional Allowances
- Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of $3, 797 per annum
- 10% remote allowance
