The Team:
The Cardiac Cath Lab within the cardiology Department forms part of the broader cardiology service at the Launceston General Hospital, including the Coronary Care Unit (CCU), non-invasive cardiology services, CIED (Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device) management, and cardiac rehabilitation.
Our multidisciplinary team includes nurses, cardiac technologists, medical staff, administrative support, and allied health professionals working collaboratively within a fast-paced and specialised procedural environment.
Our focus is on delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centred care while continually improving outcomes for patients, families, staff, and the wider community.
The Role:
The Hospital Aide will support daily operations within the Cardiac Cath Lab Department by assisting with patient flow, preparing clinical spaces, ensuring infection control standards are maintained, and contributing to a clean, well-organised, and safe working environment. Responsibilities include:

Maintaining cleanliness and infection-control compliance across procedure rooms, equipment, consumable areas, and patient spaces.

Supporting the clinical team with the setup, restocking, and basic handling of equipment to ensure procedure rooms are ready and appropriately maintained.

Assisting with stores, linen management, and consumable tracking to support workflow efficiency and timely service delivery.

Communicating respectfully and professionally with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff to support a positive patient experience and effective team workflow.

Details of appointment:
Permanent part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 28 hours per fortnight, commencing 1 February 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $57,130 to $62,486 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
